Our Team

Alignment Group is led by James Hare, a people, culture and workplace consultant with more than 20 years of experience across HR, strategy, inclusion, mediation and change.

James has worked across corporate, government, health, aged care, disability, community and purpose-led organisations. This includes senior roles as an HR Director in mulitple organisations in Australia and overseas and HR leadership within a Health organisations, alongside consulting work with clients across Australia.

He brings a practical understanding of how workplaces really operate: the pressure on leaders, the complexity of people issues, and the challenge of making change land well.

Most work is led by James, with trusted specialist partners brought in when needed. This may include support across HR, mediation, workplace legal matters, leadership, facilitation, learning design, strategy or evaluation.

The model is flexible by design, so the support fits the work, not the other way around.

Meet the Team

  • I support organisations across Australia to strengthen their people, culture and inclusion work through clear strategy, practical review and real-world capability building.

My approach combines structured analysis, stakeholder consultation and a maturity lens to help leaders move beyond good intent and into clear priorities, shared ownership and practical action.

I also contribute to the broader HR and inclusion profession through my role as AHRI Victoria DEI Network Convenor and as a member of AHRI’s DEI Advisory Committee, supporting the board on contemporary DEI practice.
